New digital generations of CT
In this lecture, the new digital generations of CT are presented and what an important influence they have on diagnostics. This is because new digital generations of CT not only enable higher resolution, but also a lower radiation dose, which in turn is of great importance for the health of patients. By high-resolution conversion of individual X-ray photons into a digital signal, these can be evaluated spectrally. This allows the collection of energy information about singular photons. This not only offers the advantage that anatomical structures can be resolved much better, but also completely new insights, for example in research against the Covid virus have to be explored.
